As you might already know my
family and I booked a three-day trip to Cartagena, one of my favorite cities
here in Colombia if you ask me, the journey and experience itself was amazing, days filled
with a bright sunshine, and so much joy to be experiencing together my beloved
ones, and even if I’ve been a couple of times, there’s always a new place to
discover plus the city’s going through some changes as well so, that sums up some extra points. So, now, let me give you a tour guide. . .
Downtown historical center - Cartagena
The downtown is pretty much visited by tourists, one main reason why we're always getting back at it. It's full of pretty colonial old houses which have become now in small hotels, boutiques and even restaurants. No matter at what time you go there, it's always eye-catching and oh, so beautiful plus magical as well by night. For the couple of times I've been there, I haven't yet finished to discover the whole city itself, but some streets are actually close as they're painting the houses to keep it all pretty.
Playa de Bocagrande - Cartagena
Oh, the beach! I kinda loved it, I mean who doesn't love the beach? I spent 1 and half of 3 days there, swimming like a mermaid and got myself a tan which somehow became in a sunburnt. A little downside is that street vendors are always there and coming one by one every five minutes or so, some of us find it annoying, others just buy what they sell (food, souvenirs, etc)
CC. Plaza Bocagrande
Cartagena's changed a lot. I went there almost a year ago, and like I've just said, the city's going through some changes. While we were waiting for our check-in at the hotel, we headed out and had a walk and stopped by this new shopping mall located in Bocagrande, it's actually quite big and have a beautiful view too which I seemed to enjoy it.
Hotel Regatta - Cartagena
Address: Bocagrande, Cra 1 N° 5 - 82 Avenida El MaleconOur experience here was somehow not good, not bad at all as we just booked our stay there and just had breakfast, no other meals included as we went to nearby local restaurants and sometimes even to the nearest shopping malls to either have lunch and dinner. The service was good but we have some problems with the bathroom as well as the TV, we didn't get to swim in the pool as it was on the rooftop plus both were kinda small, so we prefered the beach. On the other side, the bed was quite comfy to me and I slept like a baby in those white bed sheets! Need to get one for myself!
La Olla Cartagenera Restaurant
Address: Ave. San Martín No. 5 - 100 Bocagrande - Cartagena, ColombiaLa Olla Cartagenera was probably one of my favorite restaurants, the place was so quite and peaceful and very relaxing and the food was amazing. I had chicken for lunch during my three days. :)
Not here in the photos but we also went to different restaurants. . .
Don Jediondo's restaurant
Address: C.C Plaza Bocagrande
One of my favorite restaurants too, once again I had chicken for lunch, but you can find a variety of different meals. ;)
La Paletteria
Address: Centro Histórico, 03-86 Calle de Ayos, Cartagena, Colombia

I have to tell you guys that these are the Best Paletas (popsicles) ever! And I was oh, so-happy to have found their store in Cartagena. You guys have to try it if you happen to go there!
Well, I guess that's all for now. It was quite hard to edit and post and choose these photos from a gazillions of them but here finally is my thoughts on my weekend getaway! If you guys have any doubt, enquiry or you're interested about visiting this place any time soon or something, don't hesitate to write me in the comment box below or directly to my email, I'll get back to you asap. ;)
